The Harvest, with English Dances
and La Boutique Fantasque 2026

The Harvest
The ballet opens with villagers making their way to work in the fields. When they stop to rest the Village Elder explains to the children that the Goddess of the Harvest makes the crops grow.One young girl does not believe this story. She is told to wait and see what happens. She keeps watch over the crops and realises that the story is true when she witnesses the Goddess visit and the crops ripen ready for the harvest.
English Dances
It is Spring and the villagers gather to celebrate. Small children play around a pond. The time has come to choose a new May Queen. Some young ladies will be disappointed!Once the May Queen has been selected the girls dance together in celebration.
La Boutique Fantasque
The shopkeeper arrives at her shop and checks all is in order. When she opens the shop, it is overrun by children who do not behave! Eventually, the shopkeeper ushers them out.The shopkeeper trips and falls. Three children have hidden amongst the dolls and come out to investigate. The shopkeeper recovers but is not very pleased to see the children have remained in the shop.
